Smoked Andouille
Good gumbo requires really good flavorful andouille sausage which is hard to find in the North. Sam's is as good as it gets, anywhere! Nice to be able to support a fellow Pennsylvanian.

Great for gumbo
I am a gumbo lover. I looked for a quality andouille to enhance my gumbo recipe for quite a while. Most national brands I tried just didn't have the combo of spice and taste needed to impact the gumbo. Sam's andouille is by far the best product I have found to fully complement my gumbo.

I just tried this, the second item I have consumed out of the impeccably packed and shipped box from Sam's. I cooked 1/2 of the large, carefully packaged sausage for my dinner last Sunday, with a baked potato as side. It was delicious and the house took on a cozy smell of smoked fruitwood afterwards. The meat within the sausage is fine textured and leaner than your typical store-bought item. I really enjoyed it, but frankly, suspect my 'in a hurry' cast-iron pan roast/broil approach that is fine for greasy store-bought stuff didn't do it full justice, the flavor is 'dense' and complex, not in a 'all over the map' way but in a 'take your time and no need to add a lot of other stuff' way. Next time i will either be a little more thoughtful with the temp I subject it to, or perhaps use it in a stew or tomato-based concoction. I now realize 'smoke', in Sam's case, is an ingredient more like' truffles' than 'salt' and there is a lot of potential to do interesting culinary things here. Glad I tried it, I will definitely be a repeat customer. Person in Virginia

Sam’s andouille sausage is fresh and flavorful, spicy and smoky. It is perfect for jambalaya, gumbo, and other New Orleans style recipes. So much better than the mass produced products in the grocery stores.

Gumbotastic!
I am a very picky gumbo maker. Great flavorful andouille sausage is at the center of a good gumbo finished product. I looked long and hard to find the best andouille for my gumbo including Louisiana. This andouille lived up to all my expectations. This is a great product!
